What a great day!

Post by pinkrblu »

Mattie turned 8 yesterday (also the last day of school) so we had a party at Jolly Mill this afternoon. I expect Kevin is familiar with the place, but for the rest of you, it is on Capps Creek in Newton County, MO. It's an old mill from the moonshine days, I believe. There is some fairly good trout fishing there, but mostly just a great place to take your family. Lots of play equipment, barbeque grills, well kept grounds, and a beautiful creek.

I'm not very familiar with water plants in wild...what would the plant with tiny beautiful blue flowers be? It was growing in pretty thick masses in a shallow part of a very clean, clear creek. The plant itself when pulled out was probably about 6-8" long, thick stemmed.

The flower was shaped like t he bluebell, but there were about 6 flowers to the half inch and they were truely blue. The plant itself didn't really look like any of those. Thanks for the link, though.
