Tragedy strikes Worlds Under Water

Craig Close a friend, a mentor, and a father to me, died Sunday morning.

Reported by the Arkansas Morning News -

"ROGERS -- A Rogers man died Sunday after a section of a tree he apparently was cutting into pieces rolled on top of him.

Craig Close, 57, of Rogers was found underneath the trunk of a large tree he was cutting into smaller pieces by Deputy Gary Davis of the Benton County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release.

The tree already had been felled, but it appears the tree somehow shifted and rolled on top of Close, according to there lease. He was unresponsive and not breathing when a deputy arrived just before 1 p.m.

Close's wife discovered her husband under the trunk of the tree when searching to tell him to get ready for work.

Close was pronounced dead at the scene just before 2 p.m. by the county coroner.

Close was transported to Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

We are going to keep Craig’s Dream alive and continue to provide our customers healthy fish, plants, inverts, and corals for a long time to come. Aaron and I are fully capable of maintaining the same standards that Craig would have expected out of our new store. (He trained us well)

We will still be receiving orders weekly and keep the same store hours.
We will be closed wed the 28 for his memorial.

He will be missed greatly by many and never forgotten.

Bobby, you have all of our greatest condolences. I've talked with you more than Craig, but in our few conversations he seemed like a really great and knowledgeable guy.
If you have a chance could you please post an address for cards, etc.?

Our thought and prayers are with the Close family at this time of tragedy. If you guys need any help around the store or for anything else, I would be happy to volunteer my time.

I think it is wonderful that our club members are offering to volunteer their time in the store. I would be right there with you if I weren't planning to be out of town all week next week.

My family lost my older brother in 2003 in a freak accident. I know the family will need a lot of support dealing with this for a very long time to come. I want to encourage those of you close to the family to continue to check in with the survivors frequently. Let them know you care. That will help more than anything else right now.

I'm sure he is proud of the way the store has been run.
