March 10th Meeting?

Post by Jackielee »

I am attempting to convince Laura we need to come to the meeting next weekend. Are there any dinner plans in the works for that Chinese joint or anywhere? Just looking for angles.
I hate to miss the KC meeting, now that the meetings are on the same day we kind of have an issue but...I kind of need a little getaway. There are not too many folks i would rather visit than you all.

It looks like there is a good chance we will be coming down. Need to get a motel reservation made and some other details worked out but I am gaining ground. Will confirm later in the week. Thanks. jack

Jack, we'll gladly make plans. Which Chinese restaurant did you mean? P.F. Chang, where we met that one time, or Hibachi Buffet, where we've often met. I vote for P.F. Chang. :)

We are coming to town Saturday for sure. Just made the reservation. Looking forward to seeing you all and listening to what Mr. Gaines has to say about tiny fish and tanks. Will this be a short presentation?

I actually have a few tiny fish and fish tanks so this will be fun.

I'm gonna be bringing some of the donated items to the meeting Saturday. Since there's multiples of items, I foresee selling some of these at the meeting. I'll post some pics of a few of the things later.

Hope you are there. We still need to nail down dinner plans for that evening. Food and fish it does not get any better than that!

While PF Changs is probably a little (or a lot) more upscale, I'd probably vote for Hibachi Grill just because we can control when we leave a little better. I'll go to either, but that seems safer as far as out meeting time. We' should probably start about 5:15pm or a little sooner. Denny

Ok, change of plans. I am going to miss this one, but it looks like I may make the auction.

I'll be bringing some microworm starters for our mini-auction. I'm pretty sure I lost my vinegar eel culture. What is everyone else bringing for the meeting? Denny

Thanks.

Any interest down there for some pretty swordtails, A. Thomasi, T. Wesseli, V. Melanurus, Odessa Barbs, or maybe some salvator mollies?

I could bring some of any of these for the auction? I just want them to have a home if I make them travel with me.

That's definitely a possibility. Being near-sighted did have a distinct advantage when looking at things up close. Denny

You might want to spell out the genera for those of us who don't recognize the fish by the species name alone. I recognize Anomalochromis thomasi, but not the others. The liberty mollies (salvator) sound interesting. I haven't seen those for a long time.

When Sharon heard PF Chang's, she said she'd come along. She's not a Hibachi Grill fan, though, so I'm not sure if she'd still come. I'll have to ask when she gets home from work.

No big deal if there is not a group that wants to meet for dinner we can find a place to eat. I will watch the thread to see if interest grows or wanes. Thanks for thinking and talking about it. Jack

I would be interested in the Odessa Barbs. I bought the last 6 from Worlds Under Water last year, and haven't seen any since.

Also, let me know if you do end up eating at Hibachi Grill. I will join you if you do. I will pass if you decide on PF Changs, though. Either way, I will see you guys at the meeting.

I assume that the pre-meeting dinner is cancelled, since Jack is no longer coming down from Kansas City.
